    NW Portland specialty office seeks to hire a Medical Patient Relations Specialist with a minimum of 1-year current physician office or clinic experience.  Qualified Medical Patient Relations Specialist will have proof of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.  Ideal Medical Patient Relations Specialist  will be  rreliable. Attendance and punctuality necessary for early shift.  Possess excellent customer service and communication skills.

    Conveys enthusiasm and positive attitude.  Represents the clinic in a professional manner at all times.  Ability to work effectively as a team member.  Ability to effectively solve problems.  Ability to empathize with diverse patient population as well as team members.  Good computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. NexTech preferred.  Ability to manage (organize, coordinate, prioritize) multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.  Treats patients and co-workers with respect.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and patients.  Ability to work under pressure, communicate and present information.  Acquires growing knowledge of medical insurance plans.  Ability to read, interpret, retain and adhere to detailed medical records and Clinic protocols, policies and procedures.


    DUTIES OF THE PATIENT RELATIONS SPECIALISTS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED:

    CHECK-IN

    • Open up the front office at the beginning of each day.
    • Greet and check patients into Clinic.
    • Process eEligibility daily.
    • Obtain new or updated paperwork.
    • Enter insurance information and check for referrals if needed.
    • Collect and post co-pays, cosmetic, and private pay payments.
    • Balance bank and batch at end of day and turn into Billing.
    • Update patient profiles and correct rejected claims received via ToDo.
    • Delete patient balance Alert Notes.
    • Appointment reminder calls.
    • Set up parking signs at beginning and/or end of the day.
    • Help keep lobby orderly and magazines current.
    • Back up check-out desk when needed.
    CHECK-OUT
    • Enter insurance information, check for referrals if needed.
    • Scheduling Follow up Appointments: This requires extensive knowledge of all scheduling policies and procedures.
    • Appointment Reminder Calls.
    • Responsible for oversight of the Recall Process.
    • Update patient profiles and correct rejected claims received via ToDo.
    • Responsible for recording and following up on No Show appointments.
    • Collect Patient Payments: Primarily for Private Pay patients, and treatments. May also collect co-pays during back up support for the check in desk.
    • Closing the Front Office.
    • Back up Support for Check-In: Provide additional support for the check in team when there is an excess amount of patients waiting in line to check in.
    • Complete various projects as designated by manager.
    • Back-up scheduling
    Temp to Permanent.  Full time with benefits when roll to clinic paroll, wage $17-17.75 per hour, depends upon experience, skills, and references.

    SE Portland clinic seeks to hire a Medical Assistant with a minimum of 1-year current physician office experience.  Qualified Medical Assistant must be a graduate of an accredited MA program.  Qualified Medical Assistant should have a current AHA BLS and a national credential is not required.   Ideal Medical Assistant will be dependable, punctual, quick to learn, friendly, and a team player.  ideal Medical Assistant will be honest, organized, can multi-task, and be detail oriented.  Hours of the position include Mon - Thursday 8-5 and Friday 8-1.  Work Comp and MVA experience a plus.     Specialty office seeks to hire two credentialed Medical Assistant for a satellite office in SE and NW Portland.  Medical Assistant will have one 1-year current physician office or clinic experience.  Clinic may consider an entry level Medical Assistant. Medical Assistant will be a graduate of an accredited MA program and possess a national MA credential, e.g., CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), NCMA, or show proof will be taking an exam soon. Medical Assistant must have previous phlebotomy and injection/immunization experience is a must. Ideal Medical Assistant will have knowledge in working with electronic health records.  Medical Assistant will have excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail; and excellent time management capabilities.  Medical Assistant must possess a high-level of customer service skills; strong work ethic with a good attendance history. Medical Assistant must maintain a positive, professional attitude at all times and work well under pressure. Medical Assistant must be willing to do administrative and clinical duties.  


    DUTIES OF THE MEDICAL ASSISTANT INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Medical Assistant fulfills a patient care responsibility as assigned that includes Checking schedules and organizing patient flow: collecting patient history, verifying medication lists, collecting specimens. Assisting physicians and obtaining patient information, providing instructions to patients/families; answering calls, and providing pertinent information as well as basic triage.
    • Medical Assistant fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned that  includes, sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining  lab/X-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completing forms/requisitions  as needed; scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics; managing and updating charts to ensure that information is complete and filed appropriately.
    • Medical Assistant fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned that includes, Setting up equipment according to department protocols; cleaning exam/lab draw rooms and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; ordering, sorting and storing supplies, and restocking exam/lab draw rooms.
    • Medical Assistant fulfills organizational responsibilities as assigned including respecting/promoting patient rights; responds appropriately to emergency codes sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisor.
    • Medical Assistant fulfills clinical medical assisting responsibilities that include; Checking vital signs, drug administration through injections; prescriptions verifications with physicians orders; biohazard waste disposal and monitoring; laboratory procedures including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines; quality control methods; CLIA- waived testing; capillary punctures and venipunctures; specimen handling such as urine, blood, stool;electrocardiography including emergency triage and first aid.
    • Other duties as assigned, which will include Front Desk Administration duties.

    NW Portland specialty office seeks to hire a credentialed Medical Assistant or LPN to do Telephone Triage. Qualified MA or LPN must have a minimum of 3+ years of physician office or clinic experience. Qualified Medical Assistant will be a graduate of an accredited MA program and possess a current national MA credential. LPN will be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current unencumbered State of Oregon nursing license. A telephone triage Medical Assistant/LPN works to obtain patient information by asking specific questions over the telephone to the patient and relay this information back to the provider. Telephone triage Medical Assistant/LPN will need to understand when to refer the patient to the provider when deemed by protocols. Depending on the employer, a Medical Assistant/LPN doing triage can expect to perform some or all of the following functions:

    • Answer patient calls on a wide range of topics, at any time during the working day
    • Ask the right questions to get the information needed to deliver to the provider
    • Use a computer to access patient records to access specific information
    • Relay to the patient clear patient information based on the provider response to the situation
